Frequently Asked Questions

Civilian members portray everyday citizens, business owners, employees, criminals, and other characters. Their responsibility is to create believable interactions and contribute to realistic roleplay scenarios.

No. Members are encouraged to explore different types of civilian roleplay. This includes operating businesses, participating in community events, portraying everyday citizens, and creating noncriminal scenarios.

Yes. Members of Law Enforcement, Fire & EMS, and Communications Departments may participate in civilian roleplay. However, each respective department is responsible for establishing and enforcing policies governing off-duty conduct, departmental responsibilities, and the use of department-issued vehicles, equipment, uniforms, and other assets while participating in civilian roleplay. All members must adhere to their respective department's policies and DOCRP community guidelines.

Interested members should review the department's eligibility requirements and submit an application through the designated application channel. Additional onboarding or training may be required before receiving full membership.

Not necessarily. The Civilian Department welcomes individuals of varying experience levels. Members should demonstrate a willingness to learn, follow community rules, and participate in realistic roleplay.

All applicants must meet DOCRP's established community age requirements of 18 years old. Any additional departmental restrictions will be communicated during the application process.

Absolutely! Members are encouraged to develop original, realistic scenarios. However, larger events, high-risk scenarios, or activities requiring special assets may need prior approval from department leadership.

FailRP refers to actions that are unrealistic, inappropriate, or inconsistent with believable roleplay. Examples include ignoring serious injuries, performing physically impossible actions, or intentionally disrupting an established scenario.

FailRP, Powergaming, and Metagaming are forms of improper roleplay that negatively impact the realism and fairness of the community. FailRP: Engaging in unrealistic actions or behavior that disrupts the authenticity of a roleplay scenario, such as ignoring serious injuries or performing physically impossible actions. Powergaming: Forcing actions or outcomes upon other players without allowing them a reasonable opportunity to respond, or exploiting game mechanics to gain an unfair advantage. Metagaming: Using information obtained outside of roleplay, such as Discord conversations, livestreams, or out-of-character knowledge, to influence in-character decisions or actions. All DOCRP members are expected to maintain realistic, fair, and immersive roleplay while avoiding these behaviors.

Criminal organizations may be permitted under community guidelines. Members should review applicable restrictions and obtain leadership approval when required before establishing an organized criminal group. Failure to officially register as a criminal group or false business automatically deems your business illegal under any circumstance and subjects your group/business to closure by the state.

Civilian members are encouraged to create business-related roleplay. Businesses requiring special resources, custom assets, or official recognition may require departmental approval.

Impersonation scenarios may be restricted or require prior approval. Members must follow all community policies regarding emergency vehicles, uniforms, equipment, and law enforcement impersonation.
